Position Summary:
Responsible for EM pipeline development and multi-generational plan; coordination of projects from initiation, briefing, progress and completion; and technical support to Franchise and local Marketing.
Job Responsibilities:
- Together with Franchise/Marketing/Product Design/Technology/Consumer Science, generate product/concept ideas based on consumer needs, develop short-term & long-term product pipeline for EM; screen and prioritize using Project Portfolio Management; and input into Project Charters.
- Together with Product Design Group/Technology Groups/suppliers, identify and evaluate technologies for the new product concepts, introductions and pipeline development for EM.
- Develop programs to ensure continuous generation and supply of innovative ideas from R&D (R&D Platform, Product Design, Technology, Consumer Science).
- Identify, initiate and coordinate technical and consumer activities/tests that need to be conducted to qualify and validate new product/technology ideas that will support the EM pipeline.
- Translate Marketing/consumer needs to technical product requirements in the Project Charter and brief Product Design Group, accordingly.
- Work with Marketing/Product Design/Technology/Consumer Science/Scientific Affairs/QTA in identification and substantiation of new differentiated product positioning, claims and demos.
- Coordinate with Marketing/Operations management of the technical part of the project execution: coordination of the activities, ensuring requirements are met, identification and management of risks, alignment with Management, etc.
- Provide pipeline and project update to Management through regular face-to-face meetings, R&D quarterly report, Technical Newsletter.
- Recruit, identify competency gaps, provide guidance and training to other scientists. Performance review and development plan for R&D Platform staff.
- Ensure adequate allocation and proper management of R&D budget (operations, capital assets, project expenses, etc.)
- Support Product Design Manager in the implementation and maintenance of Quality Systems within R&D.
