POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior RF Manager (or Director, depending on the candidate's qualification) will be responsible for leading the the RF design team in Shenzhen, China, in support of the R&D programs. Specific responsibilities include:
- Project and general staff management of the RF hardware design team
- Recruitment of qualified candidates for the specific engineering positions
- Train the team on products and design methodology
- Mentor team members on detailed circuit design and implementation
- Provide technical support for the China market as required
- Deliver R&D programs to agreed schedule and budget and with quality
- Work collaboratively with the SJ engineering management team in R&D planning and execution.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
The candidate should have the following qualifications:
- Minimum of BSEE, MSEE preferred
- Strong background in product development in the telecom industry in general and wireless in particular
- Expertise in the design and implementation of analog RF circuits, including system cascade analysis, circuit design, PCB layout, and design verification
- Experience in managing a successful RF design team
- Experience working on the design and development of telecommunication products for or with western companies
- Experience with all aspects of the product development process
POSITION CORE COMPETENCIES
The candidate should have the following core competencies:
- In depth knowledge of RF and fiber optic technology
- Technical breadth in terms of RF system design
- Solid knowledge of various wireless standards and protocols such as UMTS/HSDPA, GSM, etc.
- Exposure to uP, automated test systems, and software control
- Strong analytical and debugging skills to resolve problems within teams and with customers
REQUIRED MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
The candidate must have at least 3+ years of experience in managing an RF design team, able to work collaboratively with peers, a problem solver, a team builder, and be proficient in managing all aspects of a remote R&D lab.
